“Turandot” is once of Puccini’s best known works and premiered in Milan on April 25, 1926.  It is a story of a suitor trying to marry a princess (Turandot) but must solve three riddles or face death.  The suitor answers the riddles, but then is refused by the princess.  The suitor then gives Turandot a way out if she guesses his name before dawn the next day.
